These are the little things I purchased, either directly or indirectly during my trip in New Zealand. Indirectly means, an addition to what I had purchased. For me, these carry iconic meanings to New Zealand.
Merino and Mohair from Sheep World, Auckland.
Brown and green ones are of 75% NZ merino and 25% possum. The white one is of 57% mohair, 38% wool, 5% nylon. Reason for purchasing: color gradation of dark and light, wavy texture (white one). A stupid thing to confess, I thought "Mohair" was just a brand. As something as 'just thread', these are the most expensive stuffs I've bought for myself in New Zealand. However, they have educated me about merino and mohair. Knowledge is priceless, right?
Beanie from Sheep World, Auckland.
Reason for purchasing, color matches my Chinese hand gloves and Japanese coat.
Lanolin soap from Sky Tower, Auckland.
Lanolin stuffs are available almost everywhere in New Zealand, later I discovered.
Souvenir coin of Kaitaki from Interislander.
Souvenir coin vending machines are also almost in any tourist area in New Zealand.
Despite the fact of high living cost -- to me it is! -- in New Zealand, magazines with good content and pictures are free on Interislander and KiwiRail.
Souvenir bottle from KiwiRail.
Before I traveled to NZ, I sometimes brought home empty mineral water bottle as a souvenir for myself. However, I thought that was a stupid thing which nobody else would do. Hence, coming to New Zealand, I was extremely surprised and delighted at the same time. They do produce mineral water in bottles that can be kept as souvenirs. I am not stupid after all. LOL. NZ, you and I, have something in common :D
Souvenir bottle from Zealandia Sanctuary, Wellington.
Biography of Paddy, from Museum of Wellington City & Sea.
New Zealand's instant coffee is not bad at all!
I stuffed in every side of my suitcase with these.
For these, I hardly can wait for next NZ trip.
My room at Noah's Ark Backpacker, Panda Room
It was not written, but pictured.
Neck cushion from Christchurch International Airport.
It wasn't my first time flying long distance. But, with a budget airline, it was. Finally I discovered, budget flying needs some luxury. Therefore, before boarding the flight back home, I bought this neck cushion. It bears the icon of New Zealand after all. [Added reason.]
